You got to follow it. That's how I know so much about it.

Re: LEGO Minifigures Online
We've missed something during the last 2 months... The video doesn't say anything, at least I didn't hear anything that could sound interesting, but my english listening might be worse as well.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=9hWO4h2IoSI#t=1400s
In an other interview:
So, the LEGO minifigure MMOG will be pushed to Flash. It is something I didn't know so far.
More information to come this Friday early morning for Europe, and Friday early morning for US.

In an other interview:
When I caught up with Bylos in an interview more recently, the developer was nearing the end of an organizational change. All three games would be managed by a single Live Team based out of North Carolina, sharing the same building as billing and customer support. The Montreal and Oslo offices, meanwhile, would shift focus to the recently announced LEGO Minifigures MMO currently in early development.
It’s a challenge that’s caused Bylos to draw up plans more than once, but which he also believes will benefit all three games in the long run. Because both The Secret World and Age of Conan use Funcom’s proprietary Dreamworld engine, a feature built for one game can be reused in the other. And with Funcom pushing Dreamworld to Flash and Tablet for LEGO Minifigures, the possibilities for their existing franchises are tantalizing.
So, the LEGO minifigure MMOG will be pushed to Flash. It is something I didn't know so far.
Wolff Bachner: What new games can we look forward from Funcom and what lies ahead for Joel Bylos?
Joel Bylos: Currently Funcom is working on the LEGO Minifigures MMO internally and progress on that game is looking really solid. I’ve spent some time in the current build and I am pretty impressed with how far they have come in such a short time.
Funcom is going through some exciting changes right now. Besides the establishment of the centralized live team working on the three major live MMOs, we also recently announced that we’ve established a mobile and tablet development team in Montreal. They’re already working on two LEGO projects.
As for me, I am firmly focused on securing the future of the three game under my charge. Three worlds, three settings…infinite possibilities!

Re: LEGO Minifigures Online
Hmm, Flash Game. Not the best, but it's OK. Maybe it'll have a client also...
I hope the info on Friday is a trailer or something!
Did anyone else notice this? Why are there TWO projects? What else are they planning? 0_0

The two projects probably includes some companion to the game or some extra stuff for other devices.

What's a flash game? I would probably know if I was reminded, but I forgot!

Re: LEGO Minifigures Online
A flash game is a game played within Adobe Flash Player. Kind of like this:
https://legouniversenews.forummotion.com/t100-ultimate-sonic-flash
Although, flash games can be very advanced. Almost just like normal games!
Does anyone know if this game is going to b made in Unity or not? I thought it was rumored, not sure though. If it is Unity, they can make it Flash, Unity Web Player, Mac and Win clients, Android, Wii, and iOS.
@Funcom: PLLLEEEAAASSSEEE make it a client for Windows! (And a Wii port wouldn't hurt either. ;P )

Unity isn't used in this case.

Re: LEGO Minifigures Online
Funcom has already said that this MMO runs on Dreamworld, with some modifications - which is good news for people looking to rip into this game, as the various Dreamworld file formats are documented quite well, with plenty of extraction and conversion programs already created.
And Funcom is working on two mobile projects in addition to the MMO, not including it. I don't think it's been revealed just what they are yet, though if they're mobile games I'm not expecting much.

Can you customize your own character?

Re: LEGO Minifigures Online
There hasn't been any hint of it yet. I'm not gonna rule it out entirely though - it wasn't until just before launch that we learned that LEGO City Undercover had both character customization and almost 300 total playable characters (everything up to that point implied you could only play as Chase's eight main disguises), so hey, we've been surprised before.

Re: LEGO Minifigures Online
I hope they do, I love character building! I spent like 15 minutes on the LU character maker. And how hard would I be to make a character customizer?

The meeting is hold in Norway, and it's early morning here, so that's the reason why it's hold on that hour.

Though, isn't this the first time they've flat-out stated that the game is browser based?

Maybe yes, but they have mentioned it earlier as well. Just not with these words.jamesster wrote:Though, isn't this the first time they've flat-out stated that the game is browser based?

Re: LEGO Minifigures Online
Here's a summary of the report:
We already knew it was browser based. It's just that it was more of speculation, instead of a fact. Especially since they kept saying that they were working on their engine, and improving it to work on mobile devices and flash... But now we know it has a Direct X 11 PC client, so no need for a browser if you run Windows.
(Has anyone else noticed that they are using LEGO.com images in their report, and the only screenshot is that one in the jungle/pirate world?)

DirectX 11 client? Cya, Windows XP!
This game sounds better and better every announcement. Let's just hope a super-powerful PC isn't required to play it.
