Ya, its down for panos and me. Either its being remodeled, or it has been hacked.

Re: Lego Uni
The first one can be scrapped, the second one is a good guess. It can also be that the server is over capacity.Hunthe wrote:Ya, its down for panos and me. Either its being remodeled, or it has been hacked.
This adress can also be used to load legouni: http://68.64.47.203/

Re: Lego Uni
Servers temporarily at capacity.
The backend servers have temporarily reached capacity.
The administrators are aware of the issue and are taking actions to correct the situation, expanding our capacity and infrastructure while continuing to look for ways to tuning what we already have in place.
This is probably a temporary issue. Please try again shortly.

Thats the exact message from the ip link, how would they fix the overload? Curse is not doing so well....

Re: Lego Uni
Sent to the moderators of LegoUni and now we need to tell it everybody...
As you probably noticed, LegoUni is down. It'll be down for good due to some legal issues from LEGO with Curse. My boss was supposed to give me a week notice before shutting it down but I guess he "forgot". I'll be trying to get in touch with as many people as possible and let them know to come here and if you could do the same, that would be fantastic.
Thanks,
Rishea

Re: Lego Uni
Legal issues? What legal issues?
Oh wait, I know - they stole a donut from a LEGO employee. D:
I would like to know why this happened. It seems no different than any other fan site - they even got exclusive interviews. So, when they asked for a hug - so to speak - LEGO basically stabbed them in the back? :\
(I get mad when I'm confused... plus LegoUni was awesome.)

Hunthe, that is the site which MsRR is moving forward, it is not that the forum is used for much. I guess this forum (LUNF) is the best to spend the time on for the moment.

Re: Lego Uni
Guys, I know why it happened. And it's either this site or Wikia thats in the firing line now. LEGO has had a "problem" with sites using the word, "LEGO" in their addresses. Meaning, we have to change the name of the site to "BrickUniverseNews", or something like that. Trust me, the owner of a website that no longer exists was furious when LEGO shut it doown for having "LEGO" in the title.

Re: Lego Uni
We shouldn't change it to brick universe news, I prefer having LUN.forumotion.com better then brick universe news.
If they change it to LUN then LEGOFan101 has to add a description for the site so google knows what this site is. $

Re: Lego Uni
I agree, because even though I said it I would HATE it be named Brick Universe.Sim533 wrote:We shouldn't change it to brick universe news, I prefer having LUN.forumotion.com better then brick universe news.

Re: Lego Uni
My LEGO Network Blog: Over 3 Years, using LEGO Images, no problem.
My LEGO Network Team: Few years (can't remember how many), some LEGO Images, no problem.
LEGO Universe News (&Forums): One year and counting, no problem.
I'll keep this in mind, but I have no plans for a change in the immediate future.
I've had many visitors to my websites, including Elementron and probably a few other CM's too. Seeing how they told SoLU about it a few weeks after they got started, I would guess they would have brought up the concern by now if it were that big of a deal.
You have to keep in mind that Curse is a business. Who makes money. I'm just a tech-savvy hillbilly, making zilch off whatever I do. Plus, I'm the actual owner of the site, and I can probably handle any requests LEGO shoots my way quicker than a network of people who apparently forget to tell the actual site administrators a change is needed.
Saying what happened to LegoUni will happened to me is like saying what happened to LegoUni happened to SoLU. SoLU is still going strong. They merely had to change their icon, something I could easily do with any images I use.
The odds of them shutting down this site are low. The odds of them requesting some change or two are there, and take a mere minute or two to correct.
