I has seen many games that has plastic toys which has a real effect on the game. It would be great if a game like that could be made in LEGO. Like having the minifigure in front of the camera so will minifigure then pop-op in the game, and use the clothes and weapons to add them to your virtual minifigure. And also add the buildings and minifigures you built in real life and put it to your property which could be the "sandbox" part of the game there you can freely add new creations, like a property in LEGO Universe, and then share them online on the LEGO site may be. Since LEGO already is a plastic toy would it not be a problem with the marketing since you can hopefully use the minifigures series and sets in-game that are already released, and put them in a some kind of board which will load the items to the game.

Even if it will be a new PC online game which will be based on the LEGO Minifigures do i not think a PC will have enough power to run this program. With the new next-gen consoles could the detail and data in the game be much wider and better than the current-gen consoles. But sadly i think a project like this would have to wait 5-10 years since LEGO is now releasing three online featured games. However if LEGO would release a game like that with these features am i sure it would be the biggest and best LEGO game ever created. What do you think? Would it be great?

I believe the Minifigures MMO is supposed to utilize a system like this, not using a webcam-based system, which would be cumbersome and inherently buggy, but simply using codes on/in the packaging.

The games i reffered to that already has this abbilty with the plastic minfigures are the Skylander serie and Disney Infinity. The Skylanders serie is only available on game consoles, however Disney Infinity is also available on the PC. I do not know in detail how they import the plastic minifugres data to the actual game but it has to do with a board. Even thought the LEGO Minifigures game produced by Funcom is in an early stage do i not think we will see any contrast between the real bricks and the virtual universe, or else Funcom would had announced that months, but chance can still be there, who knows? We just has to see on more details of LEGO minifigures.

I don't know much about either game, but don't you have to put the Skylanders figure on something to make that work? If so, it's probably some weird chip-thing inside of the figure that LEGO can't really put inside a Minifigure.

I wouldn't want to have to own the minifigure to get it in-game...

But that made me think... What if yu will have to buy the minifig to unlock it in the Minifigures MMOG? I sure hope not.

I think a system like that was mentioned somewhere.
