Re: LEGO Minifigures Online
I don't understand what that has to do with LMO? LU was already much past Live and Beta, so comparing it to a game that hasn't even finished Closed Beta is a little silly.unitx10 wrote:LU FTP came out earlier than advertised, maybe minifigs will too...
This all is just pure speculation till a date is announced by Funcom..

Re: LEGO Minifigures Online
The only thing is, I would have liked to be made by someone else with LEGO. Like EA (Electronic Arts) because CapCom hasn't really been active, plus, they make much more violent games then kid games. But that's just what I think. I will still play LEGO Minifigures no matter what.

EA Games is not really that great of a company. Most of their games are not top-quality and I don't think they make MMOGs. Funcom has expirence with MMOGs, and even though they have only made one other kid's game (Pets VS Monsters), they know about MMOs, s they won't close like game companies that never made MMOs before (like NetDevil).

Well true, but remember FIFA 14 and Real Racing 3 by EA? That is top quality.rioforce wrote:EA Games is not really that great of a company. Re: LEGO Minifigures Online
Sorry, but LMO is currently Windows Only. The .application file is a type of windows installer that downloads the files you need to run the game. If you had Linux, you could probably run it using WINE. I'm not sure if Mac has a similar Windows emulator. I'm not sure if these still apply, but this is method used for LEGO Universe beta.

There is a version of wine for Mac, called the wineskin winery. I use it often for windows applications, and it will most likely work for LMO.

Thanks for informing us, 5parxx! I don't have a Mac, so I wasn't sure how that would work.

Last time I tried wine for Mac, it didn't work for some reason… I don't know why… but I had a better time running wine on my Linux.

Re: LEGO Minifigures Online
Haha, just received my second invite to LMO Beta. It's in it's final stages of closed beta, so the closed part won't last long. It'll go to open beta soon probably. It'll have to. Everything says that Open Beta is in June.

Yeah I've only been playing recently and already completed the 3 worlds so it gives me some edge against the new open beta players soon to come.

I have to say, it really has let me down so far...I've not met one player, nor, have I seen anything making it different from Chima Online, except for a different story.

I agree, Crash. It's not too good. Obviously, we cannot directly compare it to Chima Online, because Chima Online is a different game engine and company, but I think LEGO is going the wrong way by throwing out the 3rd person character controller and making everything over simplified with point and click games. It is very lonely too. I never saw one person in-game when played (which was a while ago), but I would expect more to be on now since so many people are getting beta invites.

Re: LEGO Minifigures Online
Mhm. I feel that the thing that made LEGO Universe intriguing...was the third person-1st person control scheme. Point and Click is just too repetitive. And I don't know whether that's part of the system? Where it spreads people out? But I didn't see or hear anyone chat on public chat.

Do note you all are under an NDA, (those of you who are in CB) so keep discussions not too revealing, please.

Re: LEGO Minifigures Online
I don't think he said too much. We all already knew about the point-and-click and there is usually a chat in an MMO, so he's fine.
