Much to my delight, LU has released a new article with TONS more info about leveling and capes!so without any more delay, here's the article!

The new minifigure Leveling system will arrive with the Power of the Nexus Force release! Leveling allows for a more streamlined game experience and allows for even more minifigure customization! If you missed our past article introducing the minifigure Leveling System, you’ll want to get caught up here!

Leveling up in LEGO Universe is as easy as pie. All you need to do is complete Missions and Achievements to raise your U-Score! But how much U-Score do you need exactly?

Existing minifigures, don’t fret! This experience chart is using a newly adjusted U-Score system. The U-Score number that you see now in your Passport is not the number that you will see after this update! All Missions and Achievements are readjusted to grant the proper amount of U-Score to fit in smoothly with this new leveling system. Here are some examples of the Missions and Achievements that have had the adjusted U-Score reward!

Existing minifigures will be transitioned to this new system. The first time you enter LEGO Universe after this update, your minifigure’s level will automatically be generated using your existing U-Score. Missions and Achievements that you have already completed will be converted to the new adjusted U-Score reward! You don’t need to do a thing - your minifigure will automatically level up to the correct level and you will instantly get all leveling rewards for previously earned milestone levels!

With this new update, another change is happening. Items will now have level requirements. This means that you must be the specified level or higher in order to unlock the item to use or equip it. Here are some examples of item requirements:

Rank 2 Gear 15
Rank 3 Book 25
Rank 3 Gear 30
Spike Hammer 30
Valiant Weapons 35
Bat Lord Set 35
Valiant Capes 40
If you happen to be below the level required, never fear, you will not lose the item! You can still pick up the item if it was a monster drop, you can store it in your Vault, or you can trade it to a fellow minifigure just like before!

Existing minifigures, be sure to check your Backpack and Vault items and link your items! If you link your item before the Power of the Nexus Force update hits LEGO Universe, you will be able to use your item – regardless of the level requirement!

By leveling up, you unlock the power to use new items and equipment, but that’s not all! Every 5 levels, your minifigure will earn cool new Leveling Rewards! At level 30, you will get your first Cape as a leveling reward! You can now also purchase basic Capes in all colors of the rainbow to match any outfit! Keep on leveling and at level 40, you will get the Nexus Force Cape, which gives an astounding 3 Armor Points, 3 Imagination Points and 1 Life Point! You have also unlocked Valiant Capes, which are available for the original Faction Kits and can be purchased at your Faction Vendor in Nexus Tower.

Like Valiant Weapons, Valiant Capes also count towards your Faction Kit Multi-Item Bonus! Valiant Capes take your shoulder slot, allowing for more customization than ever before!

Well Well well, I am glad they let all that out! although I am disappointed that faction capes won't do anything different from the shoulder pads except make you look cooler. Also, when I read what the U-point requirements for the levels and what gear were restricted from levels I freaked out thinking: there goes my rank 3 gear and valiants! but then I read that they will be making the missions and achievements U-point rewards go up and change your U-points to go along with this change I calmed down and smiled. Phew! now post what you think about this! I would have gotten this up sooner like last night but my computer was being evil.

I really like the sound of these new rewards! That Nexus Force Cape....

This is a tad off topic, but who owns that website? Seems they're using the image I compiled.

And this does sound cool, I just wonder where my standings will be with only about 2,000 U-Points... :/

I have 5600 U-Score points. I don't mean to brag.... I think I'm on to much.

Well, i made some calculations and i came up with the fact that if you multiply your U-score by 14,5 you will have a number thats SOMEWERE CLOSE to the number after the update. 14,5 is the the average of the multiplier of all the achievements as shown here:

So you will ahve like 30.000 u-points

How many points will I have? I currently have about 3,000 maybe 3,075.

Just multiply by 14,5 and youll find a number thats supposed to be close to the real ammount.

thx! that means I should have around 43,500 I think.

Umm... I just did 6,000x14.5 and it only came out to 87,000. Cannot be right. That would mean even some of the best scoring players now wouldn't be at level 40.

hmm. oops. one word post. I'll make it more words. uhh well I guess noone really knows what to go off of for sure, so.... We'll have to sit tight.

Kelvin said the Free-To-Play is coming August 20. That's too if you ask me. But I think that the capes and leveling system will come before then, so Aug 20 might be right for F2P.

Some think he hacked into the Lego Universe Mythran Server. Then, he got kicked off after uploading leaked footage of the Nexus Tower Launchpad, Pre-Alpha, etc.
