I know this sounds like a silly question, but how do you make your stop animation videos? They're really neat and I wanna try!

Ok, so what you do it take a picture, move the minifigure a little, take another picture and repeat. Then, load all your pictures into a video creation software like Windows Movie Maker. There you can add sounds and effects.

Yes. That's how I make Lego stop-motions. But how did you know, CapnSkye? There's also the webcam method: You have a webcam, you also have a good program like MonkeyJam, and you take photos with the webcam. Then, you put the video into another program to add audio and effects, etc. I make my movies in Movie maker, and then put them into Sony Vegas to add sound FX and video FX. You should give it a try!

Special FX? Oh! You mean explosions and the portal! I use Sony Vegas. It has a chroma keyer (like green-sceens) that I used for the explosions. They have black backgrounds and I take that out. The Portal, also uses the chroma keyer. I just overlay the portal FX onto the portal.
