Chima Online Subscription and Microtransactions
Got to the Chima Online site and found the page on all of this. Here's the subscription offers:
12 months + 600 Gold Bricks = $59.99
6 months + 900 Gold Bricks = $59.99
6 months + 300 Gold Bricks = $35.99
3 months + 150 Gold Bricks = $19.99
1 month + 50 Gold Bricks = $7.99
Now onto the Gold Brick prices:
1200 Gold Bricks + 800 Bonus = $59.99
800 Gold Bricks + 250 Bonus = $39.99
400 Gold Bricks + 80 Bonus = $19.99
200 Gold Bricks + 10 Bonus = $9.99
100 Gold Bricks = $4.99
Count me out of buying anything for this game. It's crazy.

Way too pricy! I hate paying for games, especially bad quality ones.

I don't know if we can answer the question, but I'd suggest looking it up on YouTube.Zothen wrote:What's the gameplay like?

You tell the truth Nealybealy.
I thought this game was Free-to-Play, but they have to make dollars somehow...

Indeed I do.rioforce wrote:You tell the truth Nealybealy.

Well, from the start we knew that it had a premium currency (Gold Bricks). I would've been fine with just subscriptions, if this game was actually worth a subscription..

And yeah, Sim, it is. But what I'm wondering is, if you subscribe one month, build the exclusive buildings, and then stop, do you still keep them? A nice loophole if someone wanted to do that.

I'm probably not spending any money anymore at games that represent nothing anymore after a year of 3. LU was worth it, Chima isn't worth any of my money yet. I want to be in-game and not above it.

Definitely agreed to all of that. Though I doubt Chima will ever be worth any of my money. LEGO (IMHO) is going to have to go full on beast mode on Minifigs MMO cause' Chima isn't going to make anything.

Well Chima does have a big following with kids, so I wouldn't be surprised if you get parents paying for Gold Bricks and subscriptions because it's safe and Chima.jedi299 wrote:LEGO (IMHO) is going to have to go full on beast mode on Minifigs MMO cause' Chima isn't going to make anything.

LEGO doesn't care about their customers, only the money. They can make a snappy game and still sell a lot because little kids won't care, as long as there's LEGO stuff

Re: Chima Online Subscription and Microtransactions
My other question is: Are parents REALLY going to get subscription with those absolutely ridiculous prices? I don't think LEGO learned ANYTHING from LU's price structure.Nealybealy wrote:Well Chima does have a big following with kids, so I wouldn't be surprised if you get parents paying for Gold Bricks and subscriptions because it's safe and Chima.jedi299 wrote:LEGO (IMHO) is going to have to go full on beast mode on Minifigs MMO cause' Chima isn't going to make anything.

Re: Chima Online Subscription and Microtransactions
I don't see those as crazy prices for the subscriptions. The only crazy part I see is how absolutely no one should pay for the game. It's not worth it. Especially not for the "benefits" you get.jedi299 wrote:My other question is: Are parents REALLY going to get subscription with those absolutely ridiculous prices? The game isn't that good anyway, I think it's ridiculous to charge for it. I mean, it's minifigures with animal heads on. Really?

Re: Chima Online Subscription and Microtransactions
I do not understand. If the game is Free-to-play, if i understood it right we can play the whole game for free or it is just a little demo if the game. The pictures would not make me interest in playing the game, even if i did not play the Closed Beta i would still not pay a membership.
What is the membership and the "premium stuff" all about. I worked my way all up to level 20 without using any premium buildings, at least not buying anything with use that is.
I agree the prices are set pretty high for a simple game as Chima Online, plus i do not have time to play games nowadays, it is school starting and all.
The gameplay, in my opinion, is very simple. We simply defeat crocs, to collect certain items to access to the next area.
Did i mention that the buildings are have a familiar building system as LEGO Rock Raiders. Some simiraities are that they are both not in third person perspective and you create a base. However LEGO Rock Raider were challengeing, at least for me, but it had at least variation in the gameplay, and more stuff to do, and some fun levels too. In Chima Online, let me just say LEGO has not improved much from the 1999 games they released.
In summary, I will not pay for this MMOG. If anything i would consider putting my money on LEGO Minifigure game produced by Funcom. There screenshots, do at least make me interested, and we has not even got the Closed Beta yet. Let us wish LEGO Minifigures will be a great third person perspective game.
