Building in Minifigs MMO?

Okay so very VERY few know of this but there was an interview with Joe Bylos of funcom a WHILE back and I just recently found it and it was about an hour long interview about a bunch of random games(Probably why no LEGO fan knew of this) and in a small, small part of the interview they asked him about the LEGO game and also if it will be like LEGO universe or like a sandbox game.  He obviously didn't get into much detail but he said it would be different than LEGO universe and it's very unique, and he said it wasn't a "total" sandbox game, implying that there must be "some" element of open world building. Now from my point of view seeing the screenshots and hearing the PvP and character developement of the game I don't know how they will approuch open world building but I think some building is going to be in the game, and not just confined in little properties.


Also in the interview he complemented LEGO in having their stuff together and said they make a 3D model of every brick they produce. Now it was speculation whether funcom has the rights to LEGO's LDD and other such technologies and from that interview he said the studio has all those rights.- which explains the presentation reports talking about the work between LEGO and fncom working on this game.


So what do you guys think of this?

I think that they meant that they have to make a 3D model of the bricks so they can build creations (like the pirate boat from the screenshot and the space ships).

But what does that have to do with the question of being a sandbox game? That only means one thing, sandbox games mean free building and free roam like minecraft. He said it wasn't a "total" sandbox, implying that there was going to be building.

Ok, I read it wrong. Your point does have a bit of proof though...

I'm more starting to think that they are using "tiles" to create their world.

sounds intresting.

and typical , everytime they talk about more then one game, the LEGO game seems to be "mentioned" probebly dilibrate.
