The LEGO Universe Project (LUP)

Hello! I'd like to introduce to you guys a project that I and a few friends have been working on recently - the LEGO Universe Project.

You're probably wondering already what the project is. Our goal is to recreate LEGO Universe - in Minecraft. After LU closed, many people started playing Minecraft, my friends and I included. So, why not have two great games in one? The LUP is the complete LU that you used to play - properties, mission, all the worlds, enemies, gear, vendors, a custom texture pack to convince you that you are really in the game.

Is this in Full or Demo version?

Sounds interesting! i know of a Minecraft LUP before this. and i wonder if it is the same.

Intersting, i am not in this minecraft stuff myselfes, but one of my friends might like it. Is there any released date for the Project yet?

We hope to finish it by the end of the year, but we really aren't sure of an exact date.

How far are you with your project?

That is the real question isn't it! I just got my computer to run with out error. So not very far, yet! Soon...

Oh. That stinks And yet all these projects miss some common knowledge in terms of building LU in MC...

Are you guys using Bukkit, hy what is it, or classic software?

Bukkit generally is better, as you can get plug-ins to improve it.

The LUP is completely vanilla - in other words, no Bukkit, plugins, or mods. We are using the new command blocks introduced in Minecraft to make it so that anyone can play it. Right now we're focusing on building. Eventually, you could be doing missions and obtaining faction gear, just like LU! Pie is using Sethbling's MCEdit for custom trades and spawners.

I saw on you forum that your screen shots are different. Are you using your new texture pack? Also, to what extent is the server going to be? I.E. will all the worlds be 90-100% complete or will it be a loose interpretation?

Anyone could play, even if it was bukkit... It doesn't change the audience..

Has anyone even tried making an emulator? It would be exactly the same as the original release, you just need developers who can unpack the files.

This is getting way off topic.. If it were that easy, a lot of people would have done it already. It's not that simple. There's so much more work involved, and it is nearly impossible unless you know what the LU devs knew.

If building a LU MC server were easy, wouldn't we all have several by now?
