WARNER BROS. INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT AND THE LEGO GROUP ANNOUNCE
LEGO® LEGENDS OF CHIMA™
All-New LEGO® Property Makes Videogame Debut in 2013; Three Unique Game Experiences in One Mythical LEGO World to Explore
Burbank, Calif. – January 2, 2013 – Enter and explore the Kingdom of Chima™ in three gameplay experiences, offering something for all types of LEGO® gamers! Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and The LEGO Group today announced the LEGO® Legends of Chima™ videogames, scheduled to roar into 2013 for various platforms. The three videogames will each provide an entirely unique and exciting adventure that builds to the next experience and complement the just announced LEGO Legends of Chima™ universe of products, which includes construction sets, vehicles, TV content and more. LEGO Legends of Chima™ is a fantasy adventure set in land inhabited by different magical animal tribes and tells the classic story of good and evil, friendship and family.
"We are doing something innovative with LEGO Legends of Chima™ by making three distinct videogame experiences on a variety of platforms," said Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Production and Development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. "By creating multiple LEGO videogame experiences for one brand, we are catering to today's diverse gaming community, as well as establish a rewards system for players of all three games."
LEGO® Legends of Chima™: Speedorz™, a racing mini-game produced by TT Games and 4T2, revs its way on to LEGO.com today and iOS tomorrow, January 3. Players will race against famous Chima™ characters, battle through iconic Chima™ locations, and unleash the power of CHI to boost their Speedorz, all while collecting studs and rewards to unlock more Speedorz and customize characters. The player's goal is to become the ultimate champion and win Golden CHI, which transforms the world map and opens a new race level.
LEGO® Legends of Chima™: Laval's Journey, developed by TT Games, is scheduled to be available for the Nintendo 3DS™ hand-held system and for the PS®Vita system in summer 2013 and for the Nintendo DS™ hand-held system in fall 2013. Players will embark on an amazing adventure into the world of Chima™ where the brave warrior Laval and his allies are called upon to fight for justice.
In Fall 2013, LEGO® Legends of Chima™ Online, a free-to-play, online world developed by WB Games Montréal, will provide kids with a safe and incredibly immersive connected game experience. Players will be able to build and customize their kingdom in the world of Chima™, explore massive environments like the Falling Leaves Forest, take on missions to help Laval and his friends, uncover hidden secrets and treasures, earn rewards, and use LEGO bricks to build weapons, gadgets, and more!
The Chima™ Vault, which houses an exclusive reward system, will be accessible to players on LEGO.com/chima. While playing LEGO Legends of Chima™: Speedorz™ and LEGO Legends of Chima™: Laval's Journey, players will be able to earn points. These points can be redeemed through the Vault for a variety of unique content that players can use to enhance their experience in LEGO® Legends of Chima™ Online.

Re: LEGO Chima Video Games
Chima's definetly a side focus. It's strange they're making THREE games. I'll test the new iOS one tomorrow. Otherwise, we'll just have to wait and see.

Re: LEGO Chima Video Games
This comes in as ridicolous news, tbh. I'm wondering if they are gonna use LEGO Universe music as well in the other games. The first game, playable on the website, has the race music of LU in it's game. Anybody noticed this already? Let's hunt down to get some CHI points.

I did not hear that, but i never got to race..
So maybe i never heard the music i think. (From the people who have LU music so we can listen might not have it..)

Actually, the LU music is public domain. LU just used it. But yes, this game was thrown together carelessly by TT Games. First of all, they used old LEGO Star Wars sound effects. They also used LU music.

Re: LEGO Chima Video Games
It's official:
- Spoiler:
- Alcom1 wrote:It isn't much, and it is in Russian, but it's definitely a first look at the upcoming LEGO Chima MMO, or not MMO, it's difficult to say what it should be called at the moment.
The game appears to be more in the traditional TT style than LEGO Universe was. Same camera angle, same graphics, same silver/gold/purple coins, same health system. The game appears to have a chat system, as indicated by the chat bar in the lower left hand corner. There is a second player (Hello Eris!), and the game map reveals 4 players in the area, but the sheer TTity of the game indicates that this might not be an MMO, but simply a browser-based TT style Co-op with limited chat.
If the world is open, it is barely so. Gameplay shows linear areas, and the world map displays what appears to be a maze of linear areas.
Other than that, the game HUD appears to contain a minimap, quickslots, and a few other icons.
Gameplay footage begins at 2:38.
Sources:- Spoiler:
- Well, things just escalated even more quickly.
On January 2, YouTube user flapjacklego uploaded a video promoting the new LEGO Legends of Chima theme. The video mainly focuses on the theme's LEGO sets, but also briefly shows gameplay of LEGO Legends of Chima Online at the 2:38 mark:
Once news of this video started getting spread around the LEGO community, it led to more people investigating the game. And that led to something quite unexpected. It turns out the game is actually in closed beta right now, and one of the testers (who says his uncle works for LEGO, allowing him to get into the beta) is uploading a Let's Play of the game to YouTube. How it's gone mostly unnoticed for nearly a week is beyond me; it was uploaded on January 15.
The game seems to combine elements of traditional MMORPGs, base construction, and TT's line of LEGO games. Some points also worth noting are the re-use of music originally composed for LEGO Universe, and the inclusion of voice acting for NPCs.

Re: LEGO Chima Video Games
Well according to the post before this, it is a F2P MMOG,
Hmm.
Also, it is not a replacement for LU. Even if it was supposed to be.

Re: LEGO Chima Video Games
Looking at other beta games of WB Montreal:
--> Open for everyone. (might be unavailable in some countries) Clearly and good communication between users & staff.
There's indeed an NDA for beta testers. So, probably the dude on youtube releasing videos of Chima will be banned from game soon.
(from a WB game in beta as well, and also built in Unity3D)
-->There are two forms of chat , available in Cartoon Universe. Everyone has "Safest" chat automatically that allows you to select from a list of words to talk to others. The second option, "Safe" chat allows you to type messages and filters them against an approved list of words. Your parent needs to log into their parent account to turn on "Safe" chat for you. Saying bad things or giving out your personal information can get you banned from Cartoon Universe.

Re: LEGO Chima Video Games
NDA for beta testers? It doesn't look like it...
LEGOUniverseWhite has been uploading videos of the beta recently, and they are even using LU's music! Hopefully, the music is just temporary, but IDK...
Check this video out. It's only 2 of the many:

Yea. Apparently White took the videos offline. He probably got too many people asking him for a Beta code...

Re: LEGO Chima Video Games
Hmm, this is what happens, everybody complains that they may not upload videos of beta. Result, nobody sees anything anymore... All the fun is done, probably for a month of 2.
On a side note, there will be a support departement for the Chima Game like LU had earlier.
If you could remember that, tickets, live chat and so on. The departement which is not active at the moment can be reached by support.unleashthepower.com or support-at-unleasthepower.com. Apparantly, none of those 2 have much result as of now. There is another communication between devs and beta testers.

Re: LEGO Chima Video Games
Well the LEGO employee I talked to back in June was definitely talking about the minifig mmo, but it does make you wonder if some of the LEGO employees were referring to the chima mmo when asked.
