I knew from the first time I saw it that it was the Club Door.

It's was in the comic of LEGO Universe in the lastest LEGO Club Magazine.
When passing in the portal, it will probably bring us to a LEGO Club house, like the challenge in the Creation Lab.

Sim said he already had a glitched pop-up... but he didn't actually get to see the Clubhouse.
And, if I'm understanding you correctly, I don't think the Clubhouse will be like that...
I imagine that it will be an entirely new in-game world. After all, why else would they be taking so long with it?
If not... I'll be terribly disappointed.
